Perfect for two couples, a couple with older kids, or travelers seeking more space, this thoughtfully restored 1940s home blends rustic character with elevated modern comfort on 120 private wooded acres.
Spend your days exploring waterfalls, scenic trails, wineries, and nearby parks. Return home to soak in the 6-person hot tub, gather around the fire pit under the stars, or relax by the cozy fireplace. With two king bedrooms, inviting indoor and outdoor spaces, and thoughtful amenities throughout, Bear’s Den was designed for memorable stays in every season.
Sleeping Arrangement Update: For stays beginning October 24, 2026, the upstairs bedroom will feature two Twin XL beds and a full-size futon, while the downstairs bedroom will continue to have a king bed. Stays prior to October 24 will have the current two-king-bedroom configuration shown in the listing photos.

Important Notes Before You Arrive
- Mobile service is VERY spotty in the Hocking Hills.
- Print these directions before leaving, as you may lose service en route.
- Load the GPS directions into your navigation system before entering Hocking Hills.
- Do not use Harble Griffith Road—it is unrelated to Griffith Road and will lead you the wrong way.
- Directions below start from State Route 33. If you’re coming from another route, or need assistance, message us for customized instructions.

Directions to 21677 Griffith Road, Logan, Ohio 43138
1. Take US-33 and Exit #172 for 93-S (Logan/McArthur).
-At the end of the ramp, turn left at the stop sign onto 93-S.
-Continue on 93-S for approximately 9 miles until you reach the "Y" intersection with Ilesboro Road.
2. Turn Right onto Ilesboro Road.
-Follow Ilesboro Road for 1.3 miles to Griffith Road.
3. Turn Left onto Griffith Road.
-Note: Griffith Road is a paved/gravel road on a curve, look for the turn carefully.
4. Continue on Griffith Road for 0.5 miles.
-The entrance to Slate & Stone will be on your right.
-Look for the address displayed on the mailbox and guard rail at the entry.
5. Take the Upper Driveway.
-Drive approximately 0.1 miles and turn right down onto the drive just past the old barn.
-Follow the drive down to the house.
6. Arriving at Bear's Den.
-Bear's Den is the stand alone cabin next to the old barn.
- There are two parking spots, one on either side of the concrete walkway.
